Preventing and Managing Violence and Aggression (PMVA), also known as Positive Handling, MAPA, Physical Intervention, Physical Restraint, Control and Restraint etc., is a vital tool when it comes to working with people of all ages who display challenging and violent behaviour and is used in a variety of settings in order to keep not only your staff but also those in your care safe, as well. On occasion, rather than just breaking away, the individual may have to be held to prevent harm or further harm from happening.
