This 2 day seminar is great for those who want to explore Real Self-Defence in more depth.
The course is split between PowerPoint based learning and practical sessions. This is to ensure that you have the opportunity to absorb the theory behind using self-defence, acquire new skills to identify potentially dangerous situations as well as develop and train physical techniques to keep you safer in potentially violent situations.
The topics covered in Safety Plus include:
The Law and Self-Defence
- No ethical Self-Defence course is complete without a look in to the legalities of using Self-Defence to protect yourself and others.
Situational Awareness
- This helps you to understand your environment and identify threats around you to make you safer before the bad times happen
Recognising Pre-Contact Cues
- Most self-defence courses teach you what to do once the fight has already started. We teach what happens before the fight so that you can recognise that something is about to happen and make safety your only valid option.
Decision Making
- We all make decisions every day. In this topic we explore the process behind decision making in order for you to be able to make effective and ethical decisions before, during and after a violent encounter.
Understanding Aggression, Anger and Violence
- We help you understand the relationship between each and how to manage them effectively in order to reduce the risk of a conflict escalating in to physical violence
Simple Breakaways
- We give you some basic low level options to use in order to prevent a violent encounter from escalating in to something more dangerous
Target Focused Training
- We equip you with a basic knowledge of human physiology and identify a variety of targets on the body to aim for, being aware of the impact of striking these areas to develop you options in a violent encounter
Scenario Based Training
- We provide a setting to enable you to practice all the skills acquired on the course in realistic situations and allow you to practice making effective, ethical decisions under the effects of stress and adrenaline
